Hours of Work: 30 hours per week – off the job training to take place on Friday

Annual Holiday Entitlement: Term Time Only

Pay: £15,799 to £16,668 pro rata

Position Title: Learning Support Assistant

Closing date: 22nd August 2022

Start date: September 2022

Job Responsibilities:

  • To support delivery of the curriculum through the scheduled teaching programme.
  • To perform duties and attend meetings as required.
  • To assess and record students’ progress, to prepare reports and take part in parental consultations.
  • To undergo in-service training where required to keep abreast of developments in school initiatives, curriculum and subject areas.
  • To contribute to the school’s pastoral system.
  • To observe and implement current school policies and good practice.
  • To participate in the school’s performance management scheme.
  • To carry out such particular duties as the SENCo or Headteacher may reasonably direct from time to time.
  • To work collaboratively with students’ families, taking part in communication and consultations with them.

Skills & Abilities required:

  1. Good IT, Literacy and Numeracy
  2. Understanding of relevant policies, codes of practice & awareness of relevant legislation
  3. General understanding of national curriculum & other basic learning programmes/strategies
  4. Basic understanding of child development and learning.
  5. Ability to relate well to children & adults
  6. Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities
  7. Ability to use own initiative, be organised and communicate effectively and with enthusiasm
  8. Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles & responsibilities & your own position within these
  9. Able to understand the importance of being punctual & the impact absence has on effectiveness of the team
