Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8.00 am to 4.00 pm of which 7 hours will be given for apprenticeship training and with 45 minutes for lunch

 Pay:  £200 per week.  Please note although working for 39 weeks per year, you will be paid the weekly wage for 45.2 weeks per year to include holiday pay.

Annual Holiday Entitlement: Term time working only plus one week

Age: 16 +

Job Description:

  • Supporting the Student Services office as first point of contact for pupil queries and issues (e.g. timetables, daily planners etc.)
  • Assisting with the implementation of pupil printing
  • Ensuring that Student Services is kept appropriately stocked with resources e.g. uniforms, stationery etc.
  • Assisting in managing the pupil shop
  • Co-ordinating College lost property, ensuring named items are returned and items regularly recycled
  • Working with Student Ambassadors to provide a service to the school
  • Printing hard copies of registers, typing documents using Word and using Excel
  • Co-ordinating information boards around the College
  • Organising refreshments for visitors as required

Providing medical support following First Aid Training as follows:

  • Administering first aid and medication to pupils and staff in line with the school’s policy
  • Regular liaison with medical Co-ordinator to ensure that more serious cases are reported and appropriately managed
  • Assisting with the co-ordination of vaccine programme

Skills & Abilities required:

  • Able to work flexibly within a team, asking for and giving support as needed
  • Knowledge of customer care, able to deal professionally with staff and students
  • Excellent communication skills with clear spoken English
  • Able to understand and respect the importance of confidentiality, both within & outside the workplace
  • Able to use own initiative, follow procedures and work to deadlines
  • Aware of Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity
  • Able to understand the importance of being punctual & the impact absence has on team effectiveness


  • Anyone aged 16 and over may apply for this apprenticeship
  • GCSE passes in maths and English are desirable but not essential requirements
  • Applicants must reasonably be able to travel to work within a maximum of 1 hour

  • Apprenticeship Framework  – Business Administration
  • Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT at Level 1 (if required)
  • Level 2 BIIAB Diploma in Business & Administration
  • Minimum duration: 12 Months
  • A minimum of 1 day per week will be allocated for training purposes
