Employer description: Community interest organisation providing children’s services for the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead

Hours of work: 9.00am to 5.15pm Monday to Thursday. 9.00am to 5.00pm Friday with 1 hour for lunch

Annual holiday entitlement: 25 days plus statutory days

Pay: £210 per week with a six-monthly pay review

Job description: Working directly for the Head of Safety and Premises Management in a newly created team:

  • Work with the Head of Safety and Premises Management to oversee facilities management issues across AfC buildings
  • Undertake tasks to secure compliance with relevant health and safety policies as well as monitor compliance with standards including undertaking site visits
  • Proactive in finding solutions to facilities management issues and support other officers to enable them to proactively and reactively manage health and safety issues
  • Responsibility for logging helpdesk calls when required and monitoring them to ensure timely completion of day to day works
  • Work with AfC buildings leads on any building related issues for escalation
  • Managing requests for PPE
  • Assist with office moves
  • Undertake general administration tasks to support the AfC Board, including minute taking and/or typing minutes from recordings
    Undertake identified training needs appropriate to the role

Skills & abilities required:

  1. GCSE passes in Maths and English or equivalent
  2. Full UK Clean Drivers License
  3. Ability to problem solve and think practically
  4. Ability to undertake tasks in line with relevant guidance
  5. Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
  6. Ability to understand frameworks and policies and monitor compliance
  7. Ability to undertake facilities management tasks
  8. Ability to deliver business administration support and competent in the use of Word and Excel
  9. Good verbal and written communication skills
  10. Ability to treat information confidentially


  • Anyone aged 18 and over may apply for this apprenticeship
  • GCSE passes in maths, English and ICT at grade 4 and above are essential
  • Applicants must reasonably be able to travel to work within a maximum of 1 hour (Not currently applicable)

  • Minimum duration: Typically 18 Months
