Location: Kew, Richmond upon Thames, Surrey

Hours of Work:  9.00 am to 5.30 pm (Mon- Fri) with 1 hour lunch

Annual Holiday Entitlement: 20 days per annum plus statutory days

Pay: £180 per week with six-monthly pay reviews                               

Job Description:

  • Installing and configuring computer systems
  • Diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults
  • Logging employee queries and using helpdesk system
  • Analysing call logs to spot trends and underlying issues
  • Installing software when requested
  • Ensuring the anti-virus software is installed and kept up to date
  • Setting up and maintaining user email accounts and updating as and when needed
  • Providing troubleshooting resolutions and updating/upgrading software/hardware
  • Keeping printers working, changing toner when required, ordering new stock when needed
  • Keeping up to date of new developments in software and hardware

  Skills and abilities required:

  • Excellent communication skills with clear spoken & written English
  • A good understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Able to demonstrate practical knowledge and problem-solving strategies
  • Knowledge of customer care, able to deal professionally with clients and telephone callers
  • Able to work across different teams and coordinate own actions accordingly, escalating issues & priorities as needed
  • Meticulous, well organised, and able to check & verify information
  • Able to understand the importance of being punctual and the impact absence has on the effectiveness of the team

  • Applicants that hold a degree or equivalent qualification will not be eligible to apply
  • GCSE’s passes in maths and English are not essential requirements
  • Applicants must reasonably be able to travel to work within a maximum of 1 hour

Apprenticeship Information:

  • Intermediate Apprenticeship Framework in IT or Business Administration
  • Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT (if required)
  • Level 2 BIIAB Diploma in IT or Business Administration
  • Minimum Duration: 12 Months
  • A minimum of 1 day per week will be allocated for training purposes
