Location: Cheam SM2 7AJ

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.30 pm with 1 hour lunch (to include 7 hours per week to spent on off-the job apprentice training activities)

Pay: £200 per week with a pay review at 6 months

Annual holiday entitlement: 20 days plus bank holidays

Position title: IT Sales Support Apprentice

Job description:

  • Using Excel to produce quotes
  • Raising purchase orders using the company bespoke software
  • Researching prices & purchasing goods using the Internet
  • Receiving & booking in stock
  • Building relationships with customers & suppliers over the phone & by email
  • Learning to manage customer accounts when the sales team are out
  • Answering telephone calls & helping resolve customer queries
  • Liaising with the sales & finance team to ensure invoices are issued correctly & assisting in other duties
  • Booking travel & hotel accommodation for the technical team

An ability to complete a complex & demanding learning programme with external examinations is a requirement for Way2Work vacancies

Skills & abilities required:

  1. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to retain information & develop good product knowledge
  2. Good communication skills with clear spoken English
  3. Knowledge of customer care, able to deal professionally with telephone callers
  4. Accurate I.T. skills, knowledge of MS Word, Excel & the Internet
  5. Able to work flexibly within a team, asking for & giving support as needed
  6. Good numeracy skills, able to use a calculator & to check information
  7. Able to understand the importance of being punctual & the impact absence has on the effectiveness of the team

Eligibility:

  • Anyone aged 16 and over may apply for this apprenticeship
  • GCSE passes in maths and English are desirable but not essential requirements
  • Applicants must reasonably be able to travel to work within a maximum of 1 hour

Apprenticeship Information:

  • Intermediate Apprenticeship Framework  – Business & Administration
  • Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT at Level 1 (if required)
  • Level 2 BIIAB Diploma in Business & Administration
  • Minimum duration: 12 Months
  • A minimum of 1 day per week will be allocated for training purposes
