Hours of Work: 9.00 a.m. to 5.15 p.m. (Mon – Thurs) 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. (Fri) with 1 hour for lunch

Annual Holiday Entitlement: 31 days per annum plus statutory days

Pay: £210 per week with six-monthly pay reviews         Age: 16 +

Position Title:  I.T. Support Apprentice

Job Description:  

  • Help provide a customer focused service for colleagues within the organisation
  • Visiting with colleagues at their desk to help with IT issues and requests
  • Communicating with colleagues over the phone to help provide IT solutions
  • Using communication tools such as MS Outlook and Skype to keep colleagues updated
  • Assist with all software and hardware installations and decommissions
  • Assist with laptop & desktop builds and with refreshing older computers
  • Learn how to administer active directory and SCCM changes and configurations
  • Assist with the daily back-up management as required
  • Assist with stock & asset management as required
  • Assist with supporting, configuring & deploying iPads and mobile phones
  • Learning to produce technical & user documentation
  • Develop & maintain a positive working relationship with the managers & on-site staff
  • Co-ordinate & update procedural & policy documents as required
  • Complete all necessary paperwork for administration purposes

Skills & Abilities required:

  1. Good communication skills with clear spoken English
  2. Knowledge of customer care, able to deal professionally with telephone callers
  3. Accurate I.T. skills & knowledge of MS Word, Excel & the Internet
  4. Able to work flexibly within a team; asking for & giving support as needed
  5. Able to understand & respect the importance of confidentiality, both within & outside the workplace
  6. Aware of Health & Safety & Equality & Diversity
  7. Able to understand the importance of being punctual & the impact absence has on the effectiveness of the team



  • Anyone aged 16 and over may apply for this apprenticeship
  • GCSE’s passes in maths and English are not essential requirements
  • Applicants must reasonably be able to travel to work within a maximum of 1 hour

Apprenticeship Information:

  • Intermediate Apprenticeship Framework in Business Administration
  • Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT (if required)
  • Level 2 BIIAB Diploma in Business Administration
  • Minimum Duration: 12 Months
  • A minimum of 1 day per week will be allocated for training purposes
