Hours of work: 9.00 am to 5.00 pm (Monday – Friday) with 45 minutes lunch

Annual holiday entitlement: 25 days plus statutory days

Pay: £165 – £210 per week

Job description: Working within a busy team, providing support across 3 local sites:

  • Assisting in the reception area & meeting / greeting members of the community
  • Ensuring the registration of all families upon their arrival at the Children’s Centre
  • Answering calls, taking messages & dealing with simple queries
  • Using the bespoke I.T. system daily to input data
  • Assisting with marketing activities within the team: e.g. displaying & laminating posters, flyers & newsletters
  • Assisting with the children’s centre activities e.g. setting up rooms & clearing away
  • Observing sessions & learning to plan activities for the children

Skills & abilities required:

  1. Able to understand & respect the importance of confidentiality, both within & outside the workplace
  2. Able to work flexibly within a team, asking for & giving support as needed
  3. Good communication skills with clear spoken & written English
  4. Good working knowledge of office applications such as MS Word & Excel
  5. Able to learn to use own initiative, to follow procedures & learn to work to deadlines
  6. Aware of health & safety, equality & diversity in the workplace
  7. Willing to learn about safeguarding roles & responsibilities & procedures of the Children’s Centre
  8. Punctual, with an understanding of the impact absence has on the effectiveness of the team

     An enhanced DBS check will be required for this post

Eligibility:

  • Anyone aged 16 and over may apply for this apprenticeship
  • Applicants that hold a degree or equivalent qualification will not be eligible to apply
  • GCSE’s passes in maths and English are not essential requirements
  • Applicants must reasonably be able to travel to work within a maximum of 1 hour

Apprenticeship Information:

  • Intermediate Apprenticeship Framework in Business Administration
  • Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT (if required)
  • Level 2 BIIAB Diploma in Business Administration
  • Minimum Duration: 12 Months
  • A minimum of 1 day per week will be allocated for training purposes
