Organisation Name: Lime Tree Primary School

Hours of Work: 8.30 am – 4.30 pm (Mon-Friday) with 45 minutes for lunch (this includes 1 hour every day after school to undertake study)

Pay: £165.00 per week for the duration of the contract

Annual Holiday Entitlement: Term time working

Position Title: Apprentice Teaching Assistant

Job Description:

  • Deliver work, care or support programmes to individual pupils or groups
  • Support access to learning for all pupils
  • Provide general support to the class teacher in the management & organisation of the pupil resources & the classroom
  • Support the teacher in behaviour management & reinforcing agreed policies & procedures
  • Support in the development of other key skills which aid pupils learning, e.g. maths, English
  • Take appropriate action related to any problems or emergencies that occur during the lesson in accordance with the school’s policies & procedures
  • Provide general administrative support to the teacher, e.g. photocopying, filing, laminating etc.
  • Provide organisation support to the school e.g. duties & educational visits

 

Skills & Abilities required:

  • Understanding of relevant policies, codes of practice & awareness of relevant legislation, particularly safeguarding, confidentiality & GDPR
  • General understanding of national curriculum & other basic learning programmes/strategies
  • Basic understanding of child development & learning
  • Ability to reflect on own practice & listen to feedback
  • Actively seek learning opportunities
  • Ability to relate well to children & adults
  • Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles & responsibilities & your own position within these
  • Able to understand the importance of being punctual & the impact absence has on effectiveness of the team

 

Eligibility:

  • Anyone aged 16 and over may apply for this apprenticeship
  • GCSE’s passes in maths and English are not essential requirements
  • Applicants must reasonably be able to travel to work within a maximum of 1 hour

Apprenticeship Information:

  • Intermediate Apprenticeship Framework in Supporting Teaching & Learning In Schools
  • Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT (if required)
  • Minimum Duration: 12 Months
  • A minimum of 1 day per week will be allocated for training purposes
