Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 5.30 pm of which 7 hours will be given for apprenticeship training, with 1 hour for lunch.

Pay: £200 per week with six-monthly pay reviews

Annual Holiday Entitlement: 25 days per annum plus statutory days

Position Title: Apprentice Service Advisor

Job Description:

  • Answering incoming phone calls from clients, contractors & employees, returning calls if necessary
  • Checking the bespoke software for pay information, updating details & leaving detailed diary notes in records
  • Changing / updating information in line with company standards & GDPR
  • Dealing with requests for P45, P60 & SOE’s from contractors & employees
  • Confirming personal details & sensitive information upon registration in line with GDPR requirements
  • Providing initial response on client / contractor pay run queries & passing to colleagues as appropriate
  • Eventually explaining payslips & remittances to employees / subcontractors, fee adjustments, DWP deductions, passing to correct department / client for further information, after training
  • Dealing with registration queries, gathering information & updating on progress
  • Chasing outstanding documents required from operatives
  • Inputting registrations onto the software system

Skills & Abilities required:

  • Good communication skills with clear spoken English
  • Knowledge of customer care, able to deal patiently with telephone callers
  • Able to follow procedures and work accurately to deadlines
  • Accurate I.T. skills & knowledge of word, Excel & the Internet
  • Able to work flexibly within a team, asking for & giving support as needed
  • Able to understand the importance of being punctual & the impact absence has on the effectiveness of the team

  • Applicants that hold a degree or equivalent qualification will not be eligible to apply
  • GCSE’s passes in maths and English are not essential requirements
  • Applicants must reasonably be able to travel to work within a maximum of 1 hour

Apprenticeship Information:

  • Intermediate Apprenticeship Framework in Business & Administration or Customer Service
  • Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT (if required)
  • Level 2 BIIAB Diploma in Business & Administration or Customer Service
  • Minimum Duration: 12 Months
  • A minimum of 1 day per week will be allocated for training purposes
