Location: Kingston upon Thames

Hours of work: 9.00 am to 5.15 pm (Monday – Thursday) 9.00 am to 5.00 pm Friday with 1hr lunch

Annual holiday entitlement: 25 days plus statutory days

Pay: £165 – £210 per week with six-monthly pay reviews

Job description: Providing admin support to 6 teams of professionals:

  • Using the database to access information & update records
  • Using Excel to maintain computerised records & update reports
  • Photocopying as required, sometimes long runs & reports
  • Using software applications to send in request for information to schools & GP’s
  • Opening, stamping & distributing incoming mail / dealing with outgoing mail
  • Making appointments & arranging meetings including booking rooms
  • Assisting with the management of files & archiving old files
  • Using word to create information packs for colleagues
  • Eventually taking minuets of meeting
  • Answering phones, taking messages & dealing with queries
  • Meeting & greeting personal calls & making refreshments for meeting

Skills & abilities required:

  1. Able to understand & respect the importance of confidentiality, both within & outside the workplace
  2. Able to work flexibly within a team, asking for & giving support as needed
  3. Good communication skills with clear spoken & written English
  4. Good working knowledge of office applications such as MS Word, Excel and Google docs & sheets
  5. Able to learn to use own initiative, to follow procedures & learn to work to deadlines
  6. Aware of health & safety, equality & diversity in the workplace
  7. Punctual, with an understanding of the impact absence has on the effectiveness of the team

                                 An enhanced DBS check will be required for this post

Eligibility:

  • Anyone aged 16 and over may apply for this apprenticeship
  • Applicants that hold a degree or equivalent qualification will not be eligible to apply
  • GCSE’s passes in maths and English are not essential requirements
  • Applicants must reasonably be able to travel to work within a maximum of 1 hour

Apprenticeship Information:

  • Intermediate Apprenticeship Framework in Business Administration
  • Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT (if required)
  • Level 2 BIIAB Diploma in Business Administration
  • Minimum Duration: 12 Months
  • A minimum of 1 day per week will be allocated for training purposes
