Employer description: Provider of aftermarket services and solutions for the civil & military aerospace industry

Hours of work: 8.00am – 4.00pm (Monday – Friday) with 30 mins for lunch

Annual holiday entitlement: 25 days holiday per year plus 8 statutory days

Pay: £250 per week                                                               Age: 16 +

Job description: Assisting technicians in daily duties, processing paperwork regarding the workshop & dealing with customers to ensure their satisfaction:

  • Use bespoke equipment & processes to carry out all stages of battery testing
  • Process paperwork relating to the workshop via SAP programme
  • Answer phone calls, answer emails regarding customer enquiries or direct to others
  • Send reports, quotations or email updates to customers when required
  • Assist the Technical Administrator in booking in/booking out batteries
  • Scrap batteries if & when required using bespoke equipment & processes
  • Repair batteries upon receiving new parts
  • Assist Workshop manager when required by using Word to type reports
  • Communicate effectively with other departments

An ability & willingness to complete a complex & demanding learning programme with external examinations is a requirement for Way2Work vacancies

 Skills & abilities required:

  • Good communication skills with clear spoken and written English
  • Knowledge of customer care, able to deal professionally with personal & telephone callers
  • Able to work flexibly within a team, asking for & giving support as needed
  • A working knowledge of MS office & Google Suite
  • Able to learn to use own initiative, to follow procedures & learn to work to deadlines
  • Able to understand & respect the importance of confidentiality, both within & outside the workplace
  • Punctual, with an understanding of the impact absence has on the effectiveness of the team

Eligibility:

  • Anyone aged 16 and over may apply for this apprenticeship
  • GCSE passes in maths and English are desirable but not essential requirements
  • Applicants must reasonably be able to travel to work within a maximum of 1 hour


Apprenticeship Information:

  • Apprenticeship Framework  – Business Administration
  • Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT at Level 1 (if required)
  • Level 2 BIIAB Diploma in Business Administration
  • Minimum duration: 12 Months
  • A minimum of 1 day per week will be allocated for training purposes
