Employer description: LBRUT Commissioning support, Community & Partnerships Team

Location: Richmond upon Thames / Twickenham

Hours of work: 9.00 am – 5.00 pm (Monday – Friday) with 45 minute lunch breaks

Annual holiday entitlement: 31 days plus statutory days

Pay: £210 per week

Job description: Providing support to 4 small teams:

  • Answering phones, taking messages & dealing with queries
  • Making appointments & arranging meetings, including booking rooms & making refreshments
  • Opening, stamping & distributing incoming mail / dealing with outgoing mail
  • Updating standard documents using Word
  • Using the bespoke databases to access information & update records in time, with in-house training
  • Using Excel to maintain computerized records & run reports, using PowerPoint for presentations
  • Using social media to improve company presence & promote services
  • Assisting with conferences & public meetings, e.g. booking venues & arranging refreshments
  • Learning to take minutes of meetings
  • Photocopying as required, sometimes long runs & scanning documents

Skills & abilities required:

  1. Able to understand & respect the importance of confidentiality, both within & outside the workplace
  2. Good communication skills with clear spoken & written English
  3. Able to learn to use own initiative, to follow procedures & learn to work to deadlines
  4. Able to work flexibly within a team, asking for & giving support as needed
  5. A good working knowledge of office applications such as MS Office
  6. Knowledge of customer care, able to deal professionally with personal & telephone callers
  7. Aware of health & safety, equality & diversity in the workplace
  8. Punctual, with an understanding of the impact absence has on the effectiveness of the team

Eligibility:

  • Anyone aged 16 and over may apply for this apprenticeship
  • Applicants that hold a degree or equivalent qualification will not be eligible to apply
  • GCSE’s passes in maths and English are not essential requirements
  • Applicants must reasonably be able to travel to work within a maximum of 1 hour

Apprenticeship Information:

  • Intermediate Apprenticeship Framework in Business Administration
  • Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT (if required)
  • Level 2 BIIAB Diploma in Business Administration
  • Minimum Duration: 12 Months
  • A minimum of 1 day per week will be allocated for training purposes
