Organisation Name: Lime Tree Primary School

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8.00 am to 4.00 pm with 30 minutes lunch to include 7 hours per week to spent on off the job training activities

Job type: 12-month employment contract (6 weeks probation period).

Annual holiday entitlement: Holidays to be taken outside of term-time (39 weeks worked per year).

Pay: £9880 per annum (FTE)

Position Title: Apprentice Receptionist

Job Description:
Working within a busy school office team:
-Providing support on reception e.g. answering phones, transferring calls and dealing with personal
callers
– Welcoming all visitors and operating door-entry system
-Dealing with incoming and outgoing post
-Filling, faxing, photocopying and scanning
– Type up documents and letters using Microsoft Word and use of Microsoft Excel
-Accessing the school database to gain information for teachers and students
-Do school register mornings and afternoons

– Updating the school database with changes to address, phone numbers and other information
-Monitoring and ordering stationery supplies
-Providing admin support for the teaching staff
-Undertaking any other duties in line with the general level of responsibility of the post

An ability to complete a complex & demanding learning programme with external examinations is a
requirement for Way2Work vacancies

Skills & Abilities required:
1. Excellent communication skills with clear spoken English
2. Knowledge of customer care, able to deal professionally with personal and telephone callers
3. Accurate I.T. skills and knowledge of MS Word and Excel, and the Internet
4. Able to work flexibly within a team; asking for and giving support as needed
5. Able to understand and respect the importance of confidentiality, both within and outside the
workplace
6. Aware of Health and Safety and Equality and Diversity
7. Able to understand the importance of being punctual and the impact absence has on the effectiveness
of the team

Eligibility:

  • Anyone aged 16 and over may apply for this apprenticeship
  • GCSE’s passes in maths and English are not essential requirements
  • Applicants must reasonably be able to travel to work within a maximum of 1 hour

Apprenticeship Information:

  • Intermediate Apprenticeship Framework in Business Administration
  • Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT (if required)
  • Level 2 BIIAB Diploma in Business Administration
  • Minimum Duration: 12 Months
  • A minimum of 1 day per week will be allocated for training purposes
