Employer Description: Commission & quality assure healthcare services for LBRUT & RBK

Hours of Work: 9.00 am –5.00pm (Mon-Fri) with 30 minutes for lunch, to include 7 hours per week given for apprenticeship training

Annual Holiday Entitlement: 27 days paid holiday per annum, plus statutory days

Pay: £180 per week with six-monthly pay reviews

Job Description:  Providing support to a busy team of healthcare professionals:

  • Cleansing & maintaining the shared team I.T. system
  • Maintaining an up to date safeguarding contact list & developing an email list of regular contacts, e.g. LA’s, GP’s & healthcare providers
  • Arranging & confirming appointments & meetings, preparing papers & action notes
  • Taking responsibility for GP safeguarding workshops e.g. emailing local GP’s, organising rooms/refreshments, attending workshops, then sending out evaluations following the events
  • Scanning & saving reports & documents for the team
  • Assisting the quality team with booking rooms & refreshments for meetings & eventually taking minutes
  • Answering phones, taking messages, responding to general queries from a variety of different individuals & in time, giving information, advice & guidance as appropriate
  • Filing, photocopying & monitoring incoming & outgoing post

An ability to complete a complex & demanding learning programme with external examinations is a requirement for Way2Work vacancies

Skills & Abilities required:

  1. Able to understand & respect the importance of confidentiality both within & outside the workplace
  2. Excellent communication skills with clear spoken English
  3. Good knowledge of customer care, able to deal professionally with clients & telephone callers
  4. Accurate and confident I.T. skills with knowledge of Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  5. Aware of health & safety & equality & diversity
  6. Able to work flexibly within a team; asking for and giving support as needed
  7. Able to follow procedures and learn to work to deadlines
  8. Able to understand the importance of being punctual and the impact absence has on team effectiveness


  • Anyone aged 16 and over may apply for this apprenticeship
  • GCSE passes in maths and English are desirable but not essential requirements
  • Applicants must reasonably be able to travel to work within a maximum of 1 hour

Apprenticeship Information:

  • Advanced Apprenticeship Framework  – Business & Administration
  • Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT at Level 1 (if required)
  • Level 2 BIIAB Diploma in Business & Administration
  • Minimum duration: 12 Months
  • A minimum of 1 day per week will be allocated for training purposes
