Employer Description: Distributor of mechanical components

 Hours of Work: 9.00 am to 5.00 pm with 1 hour lunch      Annual Holiday Entitlement: 20 days + statutory days

 Pay: £210 per week with a pay review at six months

 Job Description:  Providing support to the team

  • Responding to general telephone queries from a variety of different supplier groups & giving advice & guidance as appropriate
  • Undertaking & assisting with any training / development activities as directed, in order to acquire & improve supplier handling skills, update service knowledge & IT skills
  • Assisting the team in processing invoices, both incoming & outgoing using SAGE
  • Filing, photocopying, emailing, shredding & scanning
  • Dealing with incoming, outgoing & internal post
  • Archiving historical data, e.g. labelling & filing

Skills and Abilities Required:

  1. Numerate, accurate & well organised
  2. Good communication skills with clear spoken and written English
  3. Knowledge of customer care, able to deal professionally with telephone callers
  4. Able to work flexibly within a team, asking for and giving support as needed
  5. Numerate, accurate and well organised
  6. Able to use Word, Excel & the Internet
  7. Able to understand the importance of being punctual and the impact absence has on team effectiveness


  • Anyone aged 16 and over may apply for this apprenticeship
  • GCSE passes in maths and English are desirable but not essential requirements
  • Applicants must reasonably be able to travel to work within a maximum of 1 hour

Apprenticeship Information:

  • Advanced Apprenticeship Framework  – Business & Administration
  • Functional Skills in maths, English and ICT at Level 1 (if required)
  • Level 2 BIIAB Diploma in Business & Administration
  • Minimum duration: 12 Months
  • A minimum of 1 day per week will be allocated for training purposes
