My Story by Layla
In February 2015 I left college as it wasn’t for me, I just wanted to work and do an apprenticeship. In April 2015 I came for an interview at Way 2 Work to look for apprenticeships that interested me I was worried as I had no GCSE’s. I explained to Mary Castledine (Recruitment Co-ordinator) that I had no GCSE’s but when she explained to me when I start an apprenticeship I get to study English, Maths and ICT I was over the moon due to not having the qualifications.
I managed to get an interview with Adult community services Finance as the team was willing to have an apprentice. I managed to get the job and start my Level 2 apprenticeship. Lee Barbieri (Assessor) was my assessor throughout doing my level 2 apprenticeships he has helped me so much with my NVQ work and also English, Maths and ICT whenever Lee visited he always made sure I was on track with my work and if I needed help I could ask him. The support I have had from Way 2 work is just outstanding. I have managed to Pass English, Maths and ICT and Level 2 Business Admin.
Currently I am going onto doing Level 3 business administration in the same job role I am in. I have learnt so much from being an apprentice I have built up my confidence, skills, knowledge and qualifications all within a year. I am looking forward to be doing the Level 3.
